Kansas City Newborn, Family & Senior Photographer

When I first started my photography business, I couldn’t have imagined I’d still be here nearly 20 years later—doing work I love, serving families I care deeply about, and still feeling honored every time someone trusts me with their story.
Longevity teaches you things no trend ever can.
Experience Can’t Be Rushed
Photography has changed dramatically over the last two decades:
Styles come and go
Trends rise and fade
Technology constantly evolves
But what hasn’t changed is the importance of connection, trust, and experience.
When you’ve been doing this work for a long time, you learn how to:
Stay calm when babies are fussy
Adapt when kids have big emotions
Guide families without forcing moments
Create space for people to just be
That confidence only comes with time.

I’ve Learned That People Matter More Than Perfection
Early on, I thought everything had to be flawless.
Now I know:
Real moments matter more than perfect poses
Authentic connection always wins
The in-between moments are often the most meaningful
The best photos are rarely the most “perfect” ones. They’re the ones that feel honest.

Building a Business While Raising a Family
Raising three kids while growing a business has shaped everything about how I work.
It’s why I:
Value flexibility
Create calm, pressure-free sessions
Understand how fast time moves
Respect how precious these seasons are
I don’t just photograph families—I am one.

Why Experience Matters When Choosing a Photographer
Anyone can buy a camera. Anyone can follow a trend.
But experience means:
Knowing how to read a room
Knowing when to slow down
Knowing how to make people feel comfortable
Knowing what truly lasts

Nearly 20 years in business has taught me that my role isn’t just to take photos—it’s to help families feel seen, valued, and remembered.
And that responsibility never gets old.
